MRS EBISAN ONYEMA, mni, FIoD, FNIM, FNIMN, MSCGN, is a member of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, (NIPSS). She is presently the Managing Director of Avery Nigeria Limited. An Astute Business professional with over 24years experience in the Weighing, Coding/Marking industry and Airport passenger services equipments.
She has dealt with complex economic issues that may threaten company profitability and longevity. In line with her excellent performance, she was appointed to the Board of Avery Nigeria Limited, she is also Chairperson of the Board of trustees Save Our Future Initiative (SOFI) and Member of the Board of trustees Gana community.
She controls and directs the company’s resources, oversees the activities of the company as well as establishment of the strategic goals and formulates plans to ensure goals are met. Makes decisions to ensure the organisation achieves its mission and also implements the company’s policies enabling efficient performance of the organisation. Is accountable for leading the organisation and taking decisions at all levels, as it affects the company.
Ebisan was born on 15th November 1970 into the family of Prince Joseph and Mrs Velly Olujeren Eweye Jacdonmi, in Sapele, Delta State. She is the eldest of six children. Her father is from the royal family of the Iwere Kingdom in Delta State while her mother is from Effurun in Delta State.
Mrs Onyema attended the prestigious Lagos Business School, where she did the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) in 2004. She obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management in 1998 and a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Marketing from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in 1999. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc) in Business Management in 1994. Afterwards, she served in the Compulsory National Youth Service Corp in 1995 with the defunct Nigeria Airways in Lagos.
She attended Ufuoma Primary School Sapele in Delta State and obtained her first school leaving certificate in 1982, she proceeded to Chude Girls Grammer School Sapele for her secondary school education and graduated in 1988.
Mrs Onyema also attended professional development courses at elite schools abroad, including the IoD Advanced Company Direction Programme, London, UK (2018); Leadership, Ethics and Corporate Governance, University of Pittsburgh, USA (2012); IESE Business School, University of Navara, Spain (2007).
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (FIoD); Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management – Chartered (FNIM); a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (FNIMN), a member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC); and a Member of the Society for Corporate Governance (MSCGN).
Ebisan is married to Barrister/Engineer Kenneth Onyema and the union is blessed with four children. She is a wife, a mother, and a homemaker. She has travelled to the United Kingdom, United States of America, Netherlands, Spain, India, Malta, Germany, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, China, Mauritius, Pakistan, Dubai etc. and locally in the course of her career.
Her personal interest are affecting lives positively, coaching and mentoring of young adults, studying of inspirational books, reading lifestyle magazines and biographies of high- profile personnel, travelling and playing golf. She is an ardent supporter of the proliferation of humanity.
She is a member of Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos Yacht Club Nigeria, and Lagos Gallant Lions Club and President University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association (Lagos Chapter).
